Isolated One-Way Operation: No Crossover Between Clean and Dirty Flows
The implant surgical suite at BlueSky is designed with independent, separated flows, in which every movement of people, air and materials strictly follows the one-way principle:
- Patient flow: Patients are guided to change into sterile surgical attire, put on shoe covers and rinse with an antiseptic mouthwash before entering the airlock, where they can settle their nerves before the procedure.
- Surgical team flow: The dentist and assistants pass through a dedicated surgical scrub area (with sterile sensor-operated taps and medical-grade antiseptic solution) and put on sterile surgical gowns and gloves before entering the main operating theatre.
- One-way flow of materials & instruments:
- Inbound (sterile): Surgical instrument sets, digital surgical guides and implant posts are transferred from the central sterile processing room through a dedicated pass box with integrated ultraviolet light, ensuring instruments are always at the highest level of sterility when they reach the operating table.
- Outbound (contaminated): All medical waste and used instruments are sealed and taken out via a separate exit, never travelling back against the original clean flow.
Operating-Theatre-Standard Air Control & Positive-Pressure System
The air inside the BlueSky implant surgical suite is continuously renewed and actively protected:
- Positive-pressure system & HEPA filtration: The operating theatre maintains a higher air pressure than the surrounding area, completely preventing bacteria, fine dust or unfiltered air from entering when the door is opened.
- Continuous aerosol extraction and disinfection: A high-capacity surgical suction system instantly eliminates the microbial aerosol particles generated during flap elevation and bone drilling, keeping the surgical environment absolutely clean.
Dedicated Single-Patient Sterile Surgical Instruments and Equipment
Preparation for every implant case is carried out as meticulously as for major surgery:
- Dedicated surgical kit & implant handpiece: Packed as a complete set, sterilised in a Class B autoclave and unsealed only in front of the patient.
- 100% sterile surgical draping: Sterile drapes cover the whole body, and all drill cables, surgical light handles and the surgical tray are wrapped in single-use sterile barrier film.
- Genuine branded implant posts: Stored in double-sealed sterile packaging, unsealed and placed into the jawbone only under absolutely aseptic conditions.
